Day 2 #penang trip
Day 2. 20th of December 2013. Friday :)
We travelled for at least 1 hour and 20 minutes to reach the Turtle beach. In the jungle, there were quite a few rivers that the water was actually very cooling. We used the river water to wash our faces and release our heatiness.
We've been finding turtles everywhere. We couldn't find one, we found small crabs instead :)
The speed boat reached before 1pm, and he pointed the turtle museum to us. We quickly ran there but the sand were stopping us from going any faster than that.
Really had a tough time walking on the sand. The sand was really big in size, so it was quite painful for the legs to walk on it.
After visiting the turtle museum, we went up to the speed boat and that guy fetched us to the Monkey beach :D
We didn't have any life jacket on us (It was dangerous), but we enjoyed the moment in the speed boat.
The speed boat goes faster and faster, and the sea waves were actually not very stable. The speed boat was hitting on the surface of the sea just like a car going through a bumper without slowing down :)
Although the journey was dangerous, but it was fun sitting in the speed boat!

After 10 minutes, we reached Monkey beach. The beach wasn't as clean as the one we saw in Turtle beach. The turtle beach has a much better scenery view :)
We told the boat guy to come back to fetch us after an hour. So that we can eat our lunch there.
We didn't see any monkeys when we reached there. We saw this huge swing hanging on a huge tree instead. They were so excited and can't wait to sit on it.
I think we played this swing for at least 20 minutes hahahaha, don't know what so fun about it also :P
Then, we saw this tarzan string hanging on the other tree. Shak and Zing yi wanted to try it out. But they weren't enough strength to pull their body upward. It was very hard :/
We called Ben to try out the string and yes. HE DID IT ON HIS FIRST ATTEMPT :)
He managed to tahan quite a long time on the string, don't know how he get those strengths from haihh :/
He actually thought Shak how to climb up, but girls don't have such big strength. So he found this mangrove roots for us to step on it. It was quite stable so it was safe to stand on it.
Shak did one complete swing :) Then I made my 1st attempt too. I almost dropped into the sea hahaahha, Zing Yi was actually laughing so hard at me because she was worried that I will drop into the sea. -.-
Conclusion, I only managed to do half oscillation hahahaha :/
Zing yi wanted to try also, but she didn't want to get up on the mangrove roots, Ben was trying to help her by hugging her waist upwards, HE DIDN'T DARE TO DO SO hahahahahaha, that was super duper funny omggg I swear :P He was like want to hug but scared -.- I can't stop laughing at Zing Yi till now :P
Yew Jung succeeded at his 1st attempt too! He swung two oscillations :D

We went up for a rest and Shak bought a hot cup from one of the stall there. She was too hungry. Some of us bought soft drinks.
We had to walk on the sand with bare foots because we didn't bring our slippers along with us. The sand was so hot and it was just like walking on the sand bath -.- Super hot
We were like hopping around to the shady place and stood there to wait for the arrival of our boat.
We took some group photos in front of the stall and the boss volunteered himself to take pictures for us.
The boat guy finally reached and we took the boat back to the main entrance.
We actually bared foot for the whole journey, and our foots were all sands.
After we get down from the boat, we went straight to the toilet to wash our legs and let it dry.
We stayed there for quite a long time talking and joking around.
The 101 bus came so we quickly took the bus to Batu Feringghi. On the halfway of the journey, we were asked to exchange bus to another bus( I also don't know what happened), then we only start paying the bus fares on the next bus.
We were craving for lunch after a long and tiring hike. So I decided to bring them to the Long Beach hawker center in Batu Feringghi, which was quite a famous hawker center in Batu Feringghi.
The bus stopped at the Long Beach hawker stall and we get down from the bus. The hawker place hasn't open -.- All of us got shocked cause we were really really hungry and tired.
We walked to another bus stop to wait for another arrival of the 101 bus.
We took the bus to Jalan Macalister and we ate our lunch there. The food was quite nice and the price was reasonable :)
After our lunch, we walked back to our hotel since jalan macalister is quite near to jalan burma.
Then we saw another mural outside this coffee shop.
We walked a very very very long distance to reach our hotel. The map looked so near -.-
When we reached hotel, Pui Yin wasn't back yet. So we decided to play cards and wait for her.
Pui Yin called us and told us that she was in Gurney Drive eating with her friends. She asked us whether she needs to book the place for us, but we told her not to because we were still playing cards in the hotel.
And! We actually planned a birthday surprise for the December babies (Chia Ling, Sara and Ben)
Pui Yin was the one responsible to buy the cake, whereas us was the one should be acting in front of them :D Ngehehehe
We played the cards until 8pm then all of us went to the lobby to book for taxis through the hotel reception. Initially, we went to the bus stop to wait for buses to come, but the bus that stops at Gurney Drive only come after 45 minutes, so we walked back to the hotel to ask for taxis.
We booked 2 taxis and each taxi costs RM 12.
Gurney drive hawker stalls were the BOMB!
That place was filled with people! There were many variety of food, so many until I feel like ordering everything.
I chose back my fried oyster because that is my favourite food :D
I paid for the drinks first and some of them paid for somebody else, so we decided to go back to the hotel only pay back each other.
At first we ordered food only for our own self. In the end, we just ordered as much as we wanted to and we started sharing the food :)
I can tell you, we full untilllllll I can even feel the food stucked in my throat :/
Ahhhh, stomach going to burst.

We took quite a lot of photos with different pose hahaha.
Yi chern suddenly pulled me to aside to ask me about the birthday surprise plan. Yi Chern afraid that all of them will straight away go to shower after they reach hotel, so she was asking me what to do about that.
I was talking very seriously to her then Sara came to us and asked us what happened. I was like "Oh my god !@#$%^&"
But I kept calm and answered her "Ohh, we are discussing about the money, later go back to hotel we straight away settle the money stuff 1st"
I was actually laughing inside my heart because Sara believed what I said and she said money problems are important, so settle that 1st. Hehehehehe
Then we took the cab back to hotel. The taxi fare raised to RM20 per car because there were traffic jam -.-
When we reached our room, me, Shak, Yi chern and Zing yi went straight back to our room to discuss about the surprise. Chia Ling was knocking the door and Pui Yin was busy hiding the cake.
She only opened the door after 3 minutes -.-
Pui Yin lied to Chia Ling and said that she was actually taking shower :P
Then I chased Chia Ling off to another room and said that we are going there to count the money. So she went there 1st.
5 of us were whispering inside the room and discussing how to give the surprise :/
Then Pui Yin stayed alone in the room and me and shak they all went to another room to do the counting stuff first (at least can make them not to go shower 1st)
I was so nervous because I was the one lied a lot to them hahaahha :P
After the counting stuff, Ben went straight to shower (Ughhh -.- I didn't realise)
Then Pui Yin knocked on our door, I went out and she said there was no matches to light up the candle -.-
So she and Shak ran to the nearest 7 eleven store to get a lighter.
After that, Chia ling wanted to go back to her room and shower.
I was like "Errr...." (I didn't know how to stop her)
When she walked half way back to her room, I realised that Pui Yin was lighting up the candle in the room!
So I quickly said "Chia Ling! Since Pui Yin still showering, then you just wait over here lah, you got no key to enter also"
Then she came back to our room and waited over here.
Pui yin and Shak standby outside the room, I was stopping them to enter because Ben was still having his shower -.- So sloww ah he
So I was knocking at his door and asked him to come out quickly because I wanted to pee so badly (I was lying to them) :P
After that, Ben came out with only a towel on his waist and he was topless -.-
We all were like OMGGGGGGG! BEN WHAT ARE YOU DOING MANNNNN. PLEASE GO IN AND GET YOUR PANTS.
Then he answered me "What?! I thought you said you wanted to use the toilet?"
I was like "I CAN HOLD MY PEE UNTIL YOU HAVE YOU WITH YOUR PANTS"
Everyone was laughing so hard at him -.-
Sara was talking to her mum on the phone and she got shocked when he saw Ben -.-
So Ben went back into the bathroom and wear his pants :/
Zing yi was actually screaming cause she scared that the towel will fall down and reveal his thing -.-
At this time, I went to the door and asked them to come in. I counted one two three then I opened the door, all of them got so shocked especially Sara HAHAHAHHA, her expression was so funny :D

We couldn't finish up the cake because we were super full already, so we only finished half of it.
We left another half for tomorrow morning. :D
Conclusion: OUR BIRTHDAY SURPRISE WAS SUCCESSFUL :DDDD
After the birthday celebration, we took turns to shower and we played cards.
I was so sleepy, so I played one round of monopoly deal cards then I went to bed early :P
The 2nd day in Penang was actually very meaningful for me.The hiking and the birthday celebration made my day :)
You guys are just awesome :)
Love travelling with you guys, hope our friendship last long k? :D
I guess this post should come to the end already, I've been writing this for 3 days already because I was busy attending my cousin's wedding dinner and stuffs like that :D

The alarm woke us up :/ We couldn't really wake up on time because we slept late yesterday. Since we were on a trip, so we forced ourselves to wake up at 7.30am to bathe.
While waiting for them to shower, me and Yi chern continued lying on the bed. Pui yin already informed us that she will not follow us for the second day trip because she wants to meet up with her Penang friends.
We already planned earlier that we wanted to go to the Penang National Park on the 2nd day. Yi Chern actually suggested us to find a tour guide to walk us around the national park. We thought it was like some sort of jungle trekking that requires someone to open the way for us. But it wasn't.
We had our breakfast in a typical traditional Chinese coffee shop near our hotel at jalan Burma. Since Chia ling hadn't fully recovered herself from her fever, she didn't eat something oily and heavy for her breakfast. She had wan tan mee instead. Few of them ordered wan tan mee whilst some of us ordered fried kuey teow. The food and drink were quite a reasonable price, and they were delicious too!! :)
Before we finished up our food, Ben went out, we didn't realise he was missing. But when he came back, his hands were holding breads -.- He said he went to 7-eleven to buy breads cause he afraid that he will starve while we go jungle trekking :p
After that, we went to the bus stop, which was opposite the coffee shop that we had our breakfast. We took the bus 101 to teluk bahang. The bus driver was so nice to us, he actually collected our money after we reached the place, andddd he gave us a discount (I think he gave 1 person for free).
Throughout the whole bus journey, we actually passed by batu feringghi and saw the beautiful beaches beside us :) Since our station was the last station, the bus driver showed us the way to national park so that we won't lost our way.
We had some selfie on the bus ehehehehe :)
The whole journey took about half an hour, which was pretty fast.
After we reached the main entrance of the national park, there were few stalls offering us their speed boat services from Turtle beach to Monkey beach then only return back to the main entrance.
We rented a boat for our own, which was 8 people in a boat without sharing it with other people. The price for the boat was RM 100, but we were required to pay RM 50 as the deposit first.
That guy asked us to meet them at the Turtle beach around 1pm because the hiking would take up at least 1 hour 30 minutes. At first we were so excited because we were going for a jungle trekking!! IT'S JUNGLE TREKKING OMGG, I HAVEN'T DO THIS FOR DON'T KNOW HOW MANY YEARS :(
We registered ourselves at the counter and we were given a map so that we won't lost our way. The national park admission was free! So it was quite worth it lah, we only paid RM 100 for the speed boat service.
We agreed to take a picture at the main entrance of the national park to make it as an evidence hahahaha :P
After taking pictures, we went into the park and started our journey to trek :D
Yi chern brought her insect repellent incase there will be a lot of mosquitoes. She helped each and everyone of us to apply it on the legs.
The road was nicely paved and I thought it will be like this all the way through.

The starting point was the toughest for all of us, because it was hiking up the hill and we actually get exhausted for the first few minutes of hiking. Ben hiked the fastest, he always go gym, of course no problem lah, we all are like those nerds going to hiking, not enough oxygen. Phew -.-
Our sweat were dripping down like rainfall hahahaha, is this too exaggerate? :P
We didn't really had enough of rest during the hike, because Ben said something oxygen deficit then later if we managed to control back our breath to the exercise rate then we won't feel very tired anymore.
Hahahaha, bio lesson from Ben :P Not bad, I praised him lol :D
At the starting, all of them kept on complaining how regret they followed me to national park hahahaha (actually I was quite regret going there in the first place)
Zing yi complained about how tired was she and she didn't want to hike in her entire life anymore. She said this trip was actually the most vigorous activity she did this whole year :P
We rested at this small pavilion in the jungle and we camwhored, again :/
After a few more minutes of walk, we actually used to the tiredness we had and didn't really feel any tired than that.

| Blurry :S That guy is an American and his gf is a Japanese. We met them twice, 1st time was in Kek Lok Si temple and he took group photos for us. The 2nd time was in Monkey Beach, so we asked for a group photo with them. They were super friendly and nice couple :) So nice to know them. Fate made us met twice in Penang :) |

Conclusion: OUR BIRTHDAY SURPRISE WAS SUCCESSFUL :DDDD
After the birthday celebration, we took turns to shower and we played cards.
I was so sleepy, so I played one round of monopoly deal cards then I went to bed early :P
The 2nd day in Penang was actually very meaningful for me.The hiking and the birthday celebration made my day :)
You guys are just awesome :)

I guess this post should come to the end already, I've been writing this for 3 days already because I was busy attending my cousin's wedding dinner and stuffs like that :D
