Fourth week in Taiwan

IT'S ALREADY THE FOURTH WEEK?!

Hmm, that was pretty fast. I've starting to get used to here in Taiwan. The feelings that I developed towards this place isn't like those feeling that spent in other countries for travelling.

I think it was because that I am not here for travelling, but for here to volunteer, that's why I think that this place is my second home.

I can't say that I won't forget this place in the future. It's too early to say so. Yesterday I had a thought, a very courage thought.

Before I left to Taiwan, I was very regret to register this program. The feeling of reluctant to leave my home is too strong that it made me homesick for the first week. However, this feeling recovered rapidly as my life in Taiwan goes on.

My new thought was - I want to go for this kind of volunteering every summer break I have during my university life. Couldn't find such suitable time for this.

Going to work everyday would be my future life right after my university and it's really ridiculous to take long break for work and travel before I even start working.

I was still considering carefully about these things or probably I will just be as ridiculous as what I thought.

Thinking of these, I wanted to try out a different country next year if I have the chance - maybe Vietnam?

That will be a whole new level since I don't speak Vietnamese although I've been there before.

Countries that I would like to choose must be cold, in the winter season. I can't stand hot to be honest.

I hate being in a hot country.

Malaysia isn't that hot actually but I just want to experience coldness in winter countries.

So now. Story time!

My fourth week accomodation

A table which I don't use it at all

This room was quite spacious and scary. I meant because it was massive and I normally have a fear of sleeping in such spacious room alone.

Fortunately I was tired enough, so I can be fast asleep every single night.

This family has two daughters, parents and also a grandmother.

One daughter is in grade 7 and another is just grade 1. I thought it would be a bit of troublesome staying with old people.

I was so lucky that their grandmother was very kind to me. There was this bad thing staying in this house was it didn't have wifi. I can't call my parents for a whole week and that day I did, but using my data. My data has a limit of 1.2 GB but I've used it all up.

Now I'm worrying how to reload the data.

My parents told me not to be stingy and go and reload. But the point was that I am not even stingy lol I just don't know how to :')

Although I didn't have internet connection, I found myself an offline game to play at home - Harvest Moon, Friends of Mineral Town.

There was this point where I couldn't stand it anymore so I asked my precious host family kid to bring me my Harry Potter story book heh

Finally get to read andddd....

The 7 year-old little girl came to me every night and read out loud her story book in my room -.-

But I let her stay of course hahahaha if not I think the parents will chase me out. Kidding.

This family's lifestyle was quite healthy because I always follow the grandmother to walk around after dinner.

Not bad actually. I slept at 10 pm every night do you believe ahahaha cos the family sleeps at 9.30 pm

Overall I was quite happy

On Saturday, while I was contemplating what to do for the whole day without Wifi, my previous second host family Lined (the app) me and asked if I was free to go out with them. I said I was considering what to do.

They said they'll bring me out to DaXi Old Street (大溪老街) for a walk.

Of course I said yes hahahaha if not I really don't know how to spend my weekends.

The middle one is 11 years old and the one on the right is the son which is 13 years old.

The son is studying in the school that I'm currently teaching right now. He was quiet when I first saw him, and then he turns super playful and always accusing me for bullying him (which I really did) HAHAHAHA

Anyway, Taiwan Old Street always has lots of things to shop, to eat, to see, to try for FREE LOL

The next morning, I woke up at 6.30 to prepare for another trip with the teachers.

We went to 情人湖,烛台双峙,法鼓山 and 金山老街。
