Second week in Taiwan

Hi peeps! I've went through the second week! Woohoo *throws confetti

So here's my story...

23 Nov 2015 - 30 Nov 2015

I've changed to another host family house and expected myself a room. Yes I did but it was actually the daughter's room but she was willing to let me stay in there for 2 weeks (cos I will be going back there for another week). So let me tell here briefly about this host family alright?

Uhm, actually I find the accommodation pretty okay since I owned a room, a bed, a cupboard, a desk, Wifi and I get to bathe. BUT!

Their bathroom was a mini zoo!

Why I said so?

Because they have a mini poodle and two rabbits, not to mentioned about a huge fish (I don't know what species was that and I am not interested to know as well)

When I first entered the condo, I wanted to go to the bathroom to pee. But I ended up torturing my bladder for not releasing my urine. Oh my...

Cos I saw this
How I go to the toilet you tell me

When I sat on the toilet bowl, this dog kept on leaning on my legs and it made peeing difficult wth

Anyway, I solved this problem by letting the dog out of the bathroom whenever I need to pee or use the bathroom.

I find it easy to interact with this host family as they were quite communicative. However, I don't like it when they argued in front of me.

I find it super awkward as I was the only outsider there and you guys were arguing in front of an outsider?

Besides that, the father looked a bit weird. Why I said so?

Because he whenever he speaks, I find myself uneasy. His language was quite vulgar I don't know how to give a proper response.

Lastly, the father smokes.

Okay la, I know this shouldn't be raised as an issue but I do.

People who knows me well know that I really really really dislike smoker. Not only smoker, vaper as well.

I am not saying smoking is wrong or anything but it makes me super uncomfortable as if I am smoking his smoke wth

There was this big difference between the first and second host family which was the second host family eat outside food every single day whereas for the first host family, they eat home cooked food.

I personally like home cooked food more as I will be able to estimate my own portion. If I eat outside food, the portion is too big for me to finish it personally and their children wouldn't want to share their food. So I was in deep trouble, I had to finish everything by my own, even the food that I don't like.

There was this day back then, they called for delivery. What they ordered was bento, Taiwanese-typed bento.

Then it was really really oily and I didn't like those dishes.

The rice portion was pretty much, I couldn't finish all.

I tried hard but ended up leaving some at the edge of the paper container.

They knew I didn't like it cos I was eating it so slow. Lol, I can't help. My mouth didn't want to swallow it down hahahaha

So after that day, we started going out for dinner again, such as steamboat and those food that wasn't really oily.

Lol, I am so mean.

This was really good. Hahahaha
I wished to eat this again. Hehehe

Btw, I went to Da Hu (大湖) for strawberries and Yeh Liu National Geopark for photographs (野柳)

Da Hu they famous for strawberry farms, so I expected this

This picture was taken from Cameron Highlands, Malaysia

But it ended up being hot, sunny and the farm was ridiculously few of strawberries lol

Very sunny day, I don't know how the strawberries gonna grow

This was the place where I took the strawberry farm picture from

Yeap, here it is

I camwhored with the farm lol
Most of their products sold were made up of strawberries.

I can accept strawberry jams, but sausages? Oh my, it sounded really disgusting to me hahaha but anyway, I tried new stuffs.

Strawberry Taiwan sausage
Basically, there weren't anything to see besides the strawberry products.

We left after 30 mins then we headed to 南寮渔港 for seafood.

Dinner was finally served!

To be honest, I find Malaysian seafood cooking is better :/

Taiwanese food are mostly deep fried or they add in high amount of MSG to fix the taste. Malaysian dishes are mostly steamed or cooked and the savoury and umami taste of the seafood are still there

Although deep fried stuffs are delicious, but I prefer umami and freshness over fried stuffs.

It was already dark when we done eating, so we headed back home and took our rest.

Next day, I went to Yeh Liu Geopark and 九分 (Jiu Fen) and it was a fantastic experience!

There were lots of snacks to buy over there in Yeh Liu. So tempted to buy those back to Malaysia but I was told that I shouldn't buy those too early as I still have few more weeks to go!

Me and Sook Lynn decided to come back here for another visit since she hasn't visit here yet, then I will be able to buy those snacks before I leave Taiwan hehe

This host family was overall okay....

Lol I shouldn't be complaining :/

Lots of loves,
